We’ve raised the bar for the foldable smartphone workspace. A millimeter difference in the thickness of a device may not seem like a big change, but every gram and millimeter in a foldable device requires an engineering improvement. It demands craftsmanship with passion. Done well, the benefits to users are huge. That’s why we’ve designed our latest foldables to be slimmer and lighter than our previous generations.

Both the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 are expected to adopt a new hinge design, allowing both devices to eliminate the “hinge gap” of past iterations and reduce weight. The Galaxy Z Fold 5, for example, is expected to be slightly heavier than the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
