PGA Championship 2023 from Oak Hill: Notifications when the tournament starts

One thing that concerned PGA of America executives heading into this week’s PGA Championship was Rochester’s early-morning weather.

Of course, the 105th round of the tournament — traditionally played in August until it moved to May in 2019 — will begin Thursday amid temperatures that are at least too cold for golf.

It was a slightly chilly Wednesday ahead as the players made their final preparations for the second major championship of the season.

8:55 a.m. Update: Players are at Oak Hill for the PGA Championship

Frost delayed the start by nearly two hours, but at 8:50 a.m. Shawn Michaels started the match. Michael won the 2003 PGA Championship On Oak Hill.

7:45 a.m. Update: Tee times revised after snow-delayed start of PGA Championship

Practice facilities and putting green are now open. The first golfers tee off at 8:50 a.m. on the first tee and 8:55 a.m. on the tenth. Start times will be pushed back 1 hour 50 minutes from the times originally posted.
