Travis Taylor fanned eight batters on Tuesday evening en route to a no-hitter for the West Side Monarchs in an 8-0 win over the Wing’n It Marlins at Jubilee Field.

Taylor walked four batters in the Corner Brook Molson Senior Baseball League triumph.

Jeff Gillam was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored for the victors, while Colton Kennedy scored once and drove in another in a 2-for-4 outing. Steven Sheppard scored three times.

Sean Anderson was charged with the pitching loss for the Marlins, lasting four innings and giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits. He struck out two batters. Michael Lewis saw two innings of action on the mound, surrendering three runs on as many hits, with three strikeouts and a walk. Gerry McKenzie allowed two runs on two hits, with two strikeouts, in one inning.
