CeeBee Stars win Avalon East championship series
For the first time since 2011, the CeeBee Stars are the champions of the Avalon East Senior Hockey League.
Grand Falls-Windsor beats Clarenville 5-2

The Clarenville Ford Caribous were 20 minutes away from winning the Central West Senior Hockey League title over the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts. However, thanks to a third period comeback, the Cats forced game six, to be played in Clarenville on Sunday evening.
To begin the final frame, Clarenville led 2-1. But Grand Falls-Windsor proceeded to score four unanswered goals to decisively take the game and stay alive in their hunt for another league championship.
The final score was 5-2.
Even though the Cataracts prevailed on Saturday night, the ‘Bous still lead the best-of-seven series, 3-2, and can put the championship away in front of their home fans in the Eastlink Events Centre.
The winner of the series will go on to play for the Herder trophy against the winner of the Avalon East Senior Hockey League.
