Community mailbox left wide open

When the Telegram contacted Canada Post about the issue, they had no immediate answers except to urgently ask where the mailbox was so that they could secure it as soon as possible.

The conversion from door-to-door delivery to  community mailboxes across Canada has been a source of controversy, with people worrying about security, litter and other issues.

The Liberals promised to reverse service cuts during the election campaign, but now Newfoundland and Labrador Minister Judy Foote has signalled that the postal service is doing a service review, and it’s not clear whether door-to-door service will be restored.

The Telegram has requested an explanation from Canada Post, and the postal workers’ union.
