Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Dwight Ball has offered U.S. President Donald Trump tickets to “Come from Away” and a chance to discuss the “virtues of a positive relationship.”

The tickets were offered to Trump at his leisure and hopefully are tariff free, Ball said via Twitter.

In his letter to Trump at the White House, Ball said the U.S. and the province have enjoyed a positive relationship for countries with reciprocity treaties dating back to the 1800s.

“Even during the Second World War, we stood shoulder to shoulder as the U.S. government negotiated with Newfoundland and Labrador for safe military bases,” Ball wrote in his letter to Trump. “During that time, we lived side-by-side as we supported one another in the shadow of a global conflict. However, your recent policies have been extremely troubling in light of unjustified tariffs.

“Here in Newfoundland and Labrador we believe in the familiar mantra that a rising tide lifts all boats.”

Therefore, Ball said he could think of no better way to help Trump appreciate the relationship than to invite him to the smash Broadway hit.

“This powerful work of art chronicles the story of how our small towns acted as host to the world on Sept. 11, 2001, after planes were diverted from the United States airways after the tragic attacks on the United States of America,” he wrote.
