Bound cat found in river near Trepassey

The RCMP in Ferryland are investigating a case of animal cruelty.

The remains of a cat were found on the shore of the Stoney River under the Stoney River Bridge near Trespassey in mid May.

The cat had been bound with thin green and yellow line and attached by the same kind of line to a metal plate before being thrown into the water.

The metal plate is about 20 centimetres square by about two centimetres thick.

The RCMP is seeking the public's assistance in finding whoever is responsible.
