BOTWOOD -Every year the people around central Newfoundland remember the Battle of the Atlantic and those who lost their lives during the long battle against the German navy. 

Groups and towns, as well as Legion branches from the region, converge on Botwood attending church services then marching to the local finger wharf to lay poppies in a wreath to honour the fallen.

Legion Branch 12 reps and provincial command representative Dan Devine places poppies for his branch members and for the Provincial Command members.
