The five-piece cover band, of which two members are autistic, have a wide repertoire of mostly folk music, mixed with alternative rock and a strong catalogue of Canadian artists. Members are Mike Schooley (vocals, guitar, harmonica, saxophone); Matthew Vlasblom (piano, vocals); Jake Schooley (drums, percussion); Emilie-Rose McBeath (vocals, bass); and James McBeath (bass, guitar, vocals).
“There’s a talent amongst us waiting to be shared,” James McBeath, a frequent visitor to the province, stated in a recent press release. “We’ve decided to share their talent with others out there living with autism, showing that there is a bright future for them.”
The band will be filming a documentary of the tour, showing scenes of the province, its people, their experiences and, of course, the music.
