Over $300K in funding announced for Marystown’s St. Gabriel’s Hall

MARYSTOWN, NL – St. Gabriel’s Hall in Marystown is receiving over $300,000 in funding from the federal and provincial government for upgrades.

According to a news release today, May 14, $220,316 will come from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), while the provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation (TCII) is contributing another $82,237.

The funds will be used to “enhance the interior of St. Gabriel’s Hall and increase its capacity to host more culture events for residents and visitors,” the news release stated.

“The assistance provided by ACOA and TCII has allowed St. Gabriel’s Hall to provide the utmost in heating and air conditioning to patrons enjoying one of the many events taking place at the hall,” St. Gabriel’s Hall Inc. co-chair John Baker said.

“It is truly a premier venue for arts and entertainment on the Burin Peninsula.”
