Divas and Friends ready for the stage

An impressive lineup is building for the third annual Central Divas and Friends musical production which will take centre stage on Dec. 27 at the Memorial United Church in Grand Falls-Windsor.

Many talented musicians from the central area come home for Christmas, but no one gets to hear them sing explained the director of the show, Maxine Stanley. “Now is your chance.”

“We have lots of wonderful performers,” Stanley said.

The evening will showcase many talented local artists including the House Band featuring music director Paddy Byrne who was recently voted the province’s best bass player, Stanley noted.

Other performers include: Kelly Fewer, the MacDonald Sisters, Chris Kirby and Victoria House, Chris Feener, Jennifer Beson, Alycia Smith, Christina Gidge, Charlotte Murphy, Dillon Rose, Rob Sills, Catherine Nutio-Trim, Alana Noftall , Stephen Wall and Carolynne Ball, Kaitlyn Dwyer and Joe Burke, Zakk Sullivan, Ian Verge, the Bel Canto Singers as well as Shane Tetford and Andrew Gale from Lewisporte.

Stanley noted that Erin Beresford is back to perform this year after missing last year’s show.

The tickets for the event can be purchased at the Grand Falls Drug Store or at Central Pharmacy and all proceeds from the event will be going to charity.

“We don’t keep the money ourselves,” Stanley noted. “Every year we donate it to something different.”

This year the funds will be donated to the Lionel Kelland House.

“I think it’s a very vital project (that) everyone will benefit from,” Stanley said.
