GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. - On May 3, 4 and 5 the Sew ’n' Sews, a group of approximately 50 women who meet weekly for a day of sewing and quilting, held a quilt show at Memorial United Church in Grand Falls - Windsor. Upwards of 600 people came to view the exhibit of close to 200 quilts and other items that had been sewn by members of this group.

One of the displays was that of 14 Quilts for Humboldt. "We learned through social media that a quilting guild in Humboldt, Saskatchewan put out a call for more than 200 quilts that would be distributed to first responders, families and other people affected by the Humboldt tragedy," a spokesperson for the group explained. "Our group was quick to respond and in less than two weeks 14 quilts were on their way to Humboldt."
