Grand Falls-Windsor hosts delectable culinary festival

GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, NL — A truly unique culinary experience was enjoyed by the 650 people who attended at the first annual Grand Toyota Perfectly Centered Culinary Festival.

The event was presented by the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor, in partnership with Grand Toyota and the Newfoundland and Labrador culinary Team of lead Chef (and Chopped Chef Canada winner) Roary Macpherson.

The Aug. 5 event was the largest food day festival of its kind for Grand Falls-Windsor.

At various culinary stations during the day, people were able to sample the creations of top chefs from across Canada,  including John Higgins and Anne Yarymowich of Food Network and Grand Falls-Windsor’s own Roger Andrews and Jeremy Charles.

“We’re really pleased with the way things went. The festival seems to be getting a lot of positive feedback from people who attended,” said Mayor Barry Manuel.

Manuel told The Advertiser the plan is to this an annual event in Grand Falls-Windsor.
