BUCHANS, NL – The temperature was showing -4 C and a stiff wind made it feel much colder, but paramedics and maintenance staff from A. M. Guy Memorial Health Centre were giving out warm smiles and thank yous.

They were braving the cold to accept donations for Central Health’s Pack the Back campaign outside Colemans grocery store Nov. 28.

The campaign, in conjunction with the Salivation Army and VOCM Happy Tree program, aims to pack the back of an ambulance with donations of new toys, food and new clothing to be distributed to families in central Newfoundland.

On hand helping to accept the generous donations from the community were paramedics Dale Piercey, Greg French and Stephen Hiscock, along with Tracy Baker from maintenance and Tammy Card, manager of site operations.
