The King Academy Warriors were the silver medal winners at the 3A slo-pitch tournament. The Bay d’Espoir Predators boys’ slo-pitch players, and their coaches, have worked hard over the past several school years in improving their game. All that hard work and dedication paid off recently as the Predators won the 3A Provincial High School Slo-Pitch banner in an eight team tournament that was hosted by Bay d’Espoir Academy on October 12 and 13. The Predators include: Front (l-r): Andrew Stoodley, Kyle Crant, Shane Stanley (standing), John Hepsoe and Luke Fowlow.

The John Watkins Rebels are a strong team and came away with the silver medal at the invitational tournament. The Rebels include: Front (from l): Sommer MacDonald, Ashley Loveless, Alyson Roberts, Lisa Pack, Lindsey King and Bethenny Nash. The King Academy Warriors senior boys’ cross country team won the silver medal at the regional qualifying run that was recently held in Glovertown. The team includes: Front (from l): Brandon Rennie, Stephen Mullins, Augustus Lilly and Adam Drake. Back (from l): Tate Skinner and Kelland Hickey. Kelland placed first out of 42 runners in the boys’ senior race and qualifies to attend the provincial cross-country run that will be held in Stephenville on October 27.

The Bay d’Espoir Academy Predators girls’ slo-pitch team are out to show that they can play softball as well as the boys can. The girls won a silver medal at the Botwood Collegiate Invitational that was held on Sunday, October 14. The Predators include: Front: Laura Adams, Katherine Stoodley, Stacey Burke, Christina Murphy, Chantel Caines and Rebecca Sheppard.
