Ashley Reid, 22, went missing from her Grand Falls-Windsor home since sometime last night.
It’s not usual for Ashley Reid to leave her house late at night, according to her stepfather Gerry Guy.
So when the family awoke this morning (Friday) to discover the 22-year-old was nowhere to be found in their house on Main Street East, Grand Falls-Windsor, they got worried.
“She’s never done anything like this before; she's never left home to go out that late at night," he told TC Media, adding when he and Ashley’s mother went to bed Thursday night, Ashley was in the living room, watching American Idol on TV.
When they woke up in the morning, she was nowhere to be found.
Guy immediately started looking.
“I searched all the way around town — in the mall, the stores, anywhere where I might think she might go,” he said.
Shortly after 11 a.m., he said, they notified the local RCMP. The police have not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
Through the day, Ashley’s family has continued to search, and have been using Facebook to ask people to be on the lookout for the missing woman.
The young woman is described as being five foot-five inches tall and has brown hair.
If anyone can provide information, they should contact the Grand Falls-Windsor detachment of the RCMP at 489-2121.
