Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP members responded to a call around 5:30 this morning where a young woman claimed she was threatened at gunpoint by a male.

Constable Rory Jeddore told the Advertiser the incident took place on Main Street in Grand Falls-Windsor in the man's apartment.

Const. Jeddore said the male, who was known to the complainant, pointed a gun at her head and threatened to shoot her.

The man was arrested and is currently in custody, and police are investigating the matter. A warrant was prepared to enter the residence and search for the weapon in question.

No one was hurt in the incident, but police are in the process of preparing court documents to lay charges.

More details to come.
