The Town of Botwood is bringing out community spirit in the middle of the winter with their annual festival.

Bayside Blizzard 2012, the forth annual of its kind, will take place Tuesday, Feb. 21, to Sunday Feb. 26.

"We like to try to fill out the brochure as much as we can," said Councillor Dennis Woolridge, chair of the recreation and tourism committee. "We have the three services groups we call the Kinsmen, the Legion and the Lions, we have the firemen, the Boys and Girls Club, churches, minor hockey, so most everybody is trying to raise a bit of money to support their events. What the Town is trying to do is get these groups together, put off the event to try to fundraise for these groups and get the community out and be involved in your town."

See the Monday, Feb. 13 edition of the Advertiser for more on the festival.
